Bulb Comparison
When converting to LEDs, the S2000 gauge cluster requires a unique solution to achieve OEM quality results. Qube Engineering’s LED Gauge Cluster solution is not a simple bulb swap, but a custom array of 100+ LEDs to achieve a full and uniform brightness that is not achievable through any simple bulb swap solutions.
Incandescent light bulbs emit light equally in all directions. LEDs omit light directionally, as shown below.
The OEM solution uses 7 incandescent bulbs to achieve a uniform backlight across the entire gauge cluster. Due to their omnidirectional light pattern, illuminating the entire gauge cluster face can be done using just a few bulbs.
An LED Bulbs Swap solution simply replaces the 7 incandescent bulbs with LED Bulbs. This creates uneven lighting with very noticeable brightness hot spots.
The Qube Engineering LED Gauge Cluster solution uses an array of 100+ LEDs to fully and evenly illuminate the entire gauge cluster face.
